Season of Giving...

For my Christmas present this year, Rachel surprised me with a trip to NYC! She arrived at my house at 7:00 on a Thurday night and played a little game of charades with my boys to explain to them where she was taking me... when they guessed "Big Apple" I was in total shock! She said go pack... we're leaving in an hour!!

It was AMAZING! I kept asking myself what I ever did to be so lucky as to find a friend like Rachel who is so thoughtful, dependable, supportive, non-judgemental and so much fun to hang out with! She truly is the BEST!!! And not just because of the great trip to NYC... just because she's everything I've ever wanted in a best friend!!! Through good times and bad, she's always been there for me!
My gift to her came no where near the coolness level as her gift to me... in fact, it sucked in comparison... but that's just another reason that Rachel is so cool... she doesn't compare!

Anyway, we were supposed to go to Wendover to see Brett Michaels but unfortunately there was a horrible snowstorm and I couldn't bring myself to drive us out there... So we went for the back up plan of going to the Keys on Main piano bar in SLC for the wine tasting and Matt Nathanson concert.

We stayed overnight at a hotel downtown and had a great time anyway!

Whenever we're together, we always have a great time!!! I love you Rachel!!!

Black Friday!

For the 3rd year in a row, we braved the insane crowds and shopped til we dropped on Black Friday! We started at the Southtowne Mall at midnight and got some killer deals! Then we loaded up on coffee and headed to Walmart where we witnessed humanity at its finest! After which, we proceeded to Target. We were finished shopping by 7:30 a.m. but couldn't call it complete until we went to Einstein Bros. to split a ham and cheese egg sandwich on a garlic bagel. All the craziness was worth it for that tasty morsel!!

Upon completion of our shopping extravaganza, I proceeded to sleep for about 15 hours... split up briefly by attempting to socialize with my dear family... but mostly I just slept a ton!!

And now I'm happy to announce that my shopping is mostly completed, save for a few small misc. gifts for others... But my boys are taken care of!! Yeehaw!!

Autumn Catch-up

Even though we haven't been blogging it, we have still been up to lots of fun stuff! Those of you who have been missing getting updates, here's the latest... We had Girl's Night Karaoke at Magee McGee's with Lisa, Aimee and Lisa. It was great!

Then we spent a night in beautiful downtown Ogden for Fear Fest where Rachel dressed up as a Disco Dancer and I was Wonder Woman.

It was oh so much fun... as you can see from our fun pics!!

Summer Fun Continued...

Hey it's Rachel here....note the italics....right? We also did our 2nd annual Vegas girls trip.....plus 2 girls this year and minus the BBW. We had long days of doing nothing but laying by the pool with a cold adult beverage and long nights of dancing and....more adult beverages? Sounds like we are alcoholics by now......I would dispute that but my liver may say differently after THAT trip. We will post some pics as soon as I get them.

So all in all it was a great WendiRachel summer....back to school now for the kiddies and goodbye to warm summer nights. Blast...it was great while it lasted. Later, Gators!

Summer Concerts!

KT Tunstall at Red Butte Garden - One of the few venues in Utah where you can bring your own bottle of wine to enjoy amongst the beauty of nature! This was an awesome concert!! We love KT!! She is so cool with her 5+ guitars and witty comments in between sets! We had a great time!
Panic at the Disco at Saltair - Yes we were the oldest ones there... But it was such a fun concert that we didn't care!! We sang and danced and had a great time... among this year's crop of graduating high schoolers:) Oh well... we are just young at heart!

This is us at the MS150 last weekend... it was our 2nd time riding together and we had a blast! Our jersey's were so cute that we won "Best Jersey" because we were the best dressed at the MS150!!
